Born at Sheffield, 13th January 1870 and lived at Sheffield.  Husband of Kate Brown, of 52 White Croft, Sheffield. He was a steel roller at Samuel Osborn and Co. Steel Works, Sheffield.  prior to enlisting 4th September 1914 at Sheffield. He was discharged unfit for military service, 13th May 1916 and died, 27th May 1916, aged 46,  of Phthisis (Tuberculosis).

Buried : Sheffield (St. Michaels) Roman Catholic Cemetery, Yorkshire, United Kingdom.
