British War and Victory MedalBorn at West Hallam, Derbyshire. Son of Arthur and Annie Brown; Husband of May Brown, of 85, Nottingham Road, Ilkeston, Derbyshire. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting  25th August 1915 and went to France 6th March 1916 and was killed in action, 6th June 1916, aged 22, during a raid on the German trenches at Givenchy, France.
