British 15 Star, British War and Victory MedalBorn and lived at Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. Son of Samuel and Elizabeth Brown, of 127, The Rock, Ratcliffe Gate, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. He was a shop assistant prior to enlisting at Mansfield. He went to France 22nd June 1915 and was killed in action, 15th September 1916, aged 21, in the attack at Guillemont, France, during the Battle of the Somme
