Private Leonard James Brown

Battalion: 15th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at Grantham, Lincolnshire. Son of Henry and Mary Brown, of 48 Norton Street, Grantham. He was a porter prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He was killed in action, 20th July 1916, in the attack at Trones Wood, France during the Battle fo the Somme. 

Commemorated : Thiepval Memorial, France. Pier and Face 10 C 10 D and 11 A.
