Battalion: 1/6th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Grassmoor, Derbyshire and lived at 63 West View, Grassmoor. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting 21st October 1914 at Chesterfield. He went to France on 28th February 1915 and was killed in action, 26th November 1915, whilst serving in the trenches at La Coutre, France.
