Battalion: 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Carlton-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire. Son of William and Mary Brown, of Carlton-On-Trent; Husband of Annie Elizabeth Brown, of North End, Farndon, Newark, Nottinghamshire. He enlisted at Derby and was killed in action, 14th April 1917, age 34, in and advance to straighten the line near Gauzaucourt, France. 

Commemorated : Thiepval Memorial, France. Pier and Face 10 C 10 D and 11 A.
