Born and lived at Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Son of Tom Brown. he enlisted at Mansfield, Nottinghamshire and went to France on 27th August 1915. He was killed in action on, 20th November 1915, by German shellfire whilst serving in the trenches at Sailly, France.
