British 15 Star, British War and Victory MedalBorn and lived at Derby. Son of John and Emma Brown, of 315, Stockbrook Street, Derby. He was an oiler in the carriage and wagon department at Midland Railway, Derby prior to enlisting 16th June 1914 at Derby. He went to France on 25th February 1915 and suffered gunshot wounds to his head, 24th March 1916. He was treated at No. 30 Casualty Clearing Station at Aubigny, France, before being transferred to No. 1 General Hospital, Rouen, France, 27th March 1916. Where he died of these wounds, 1st April 1916, aged 19.
