Battalion: 15th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at Cleethorpes. Lincolnshire. Son of Isla and Eliza Jane Brown, of 3 James Square, Cleethorpes. He enlisted at Grimsby and was killed in action, 17th July 1916, during the German shelling of the trenches to the south-east of Trones Wood, France during the Battle of the Somme.

Commemorated : Thiepval Memorial, France. Pier and Face 10 C 10 D and 11 A.
