Battalion : 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at Nottingham. Son of Sidney and Elizabeth Brown, of 49, Manvers Street, Sneinton, Nottingham. He was a lace factory hand prior to enlisting 4th April 1912 at Nottingham. He went to France 11th November 1914 and was killed in action, 2nd May 1915, by a German sniper, whilst serving in the line near Houplines, France.
