Battalion: 11th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Son of Robert and Elizabeth Mary Brown, of Isleham Fen, Ely, Cambridgeshire. He was a hay presser prior to enlisting on 15th February 1916 into the Northamptonshire Regiment and was posted to the 8th Battalion on 8th April 1916. Went to France on 6th July 1916 with the 1st Battalion Northamptonshire Regiment. On the 14th of July 1916, he was attached to the 11th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment and joined them on 1st September 1916. He died, on 24th February 1917, of Pneumonia at 2nd Stationary Hospital Boulogne, France.
