Private Clarence Brown

Battalion : 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

British War and Victory MedalSon of Sylvester and  Lucy Brown, of  The Post Office, Foxton, Market Harborough, Leicestershire. He enlisted 23rd February 1917 at Market Harborough. Was transferred to the 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, May 1917 and went to France 24th October 1917. He suffered shrapnel wounds and the effects of gas on 15th August 1918 and was admitted to No. 9 General Hospital, Rouen, France, 17th August 1918. He was transferred to England on Hospital Ship Panama, 30th August 1918 and died 5th November 1918, aged 20, at the Lord Derby War Hospital, Warrington, Cheshire. 

Buried : Foxton (St. Andrew) Churchyard, Leicestershire, United Kingdom. Joint Grave, north of tower.
