British 15 Star, British War and Victory MedalBorn 29th October 1893 at Buxton, Derbyshire. Son of Major Abraham and Lucie Brown, of 20, Hardwick Street, Buxton, Derbyshire. He was educated at Homeleigh School, Buxton and Shrewsbury School. He was an engineer at Vickers Engineering.  He was commissioned and posted Second Lieutenant to the 1/6th Battalion Sherwood Foresters, 5th October 1914. He was promoted Lieutenant 22nd March 1915 and went to France on 11th July 1915. He was killed in action, 23rd April 1917, aged 23, during the attack on Fosse 3 de Lievin, France whilst scaling a 5 feet wall in an attempt to reach the German line.
