British War and Victory MedalBorn and lived at Retford, Nottinghamshire Son of Henry and Sarah Ann Brown, of Retford; Husband of Levina Beech (formerly Brown), of 31, Jubilee Terrace, Brecks Road, Ordsall, Retford, Nottinghamshire. he was employed at Fairy Grove Nurseries, Retford.  prior to enlisting at Retford. He went to France on 26th June 1916 and was killed in action, on 26th August 1917, aged 35, whilst serving in the trenches near Philosophe, France.
