Private Frank Broughton

Battalion: 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Hackthorn, Lincolnshire. Son of Fred and Susan Broughton, of Top Farm, Cold Hanworth, Hackthorn. He was working on his father’s farm prior to enlisting at Scunthorpe. He was killed in action, 15th October 1916, aged 25, in the attack near Le Transloy, France, during the Battle of the Somme.
