Born and lived at Worksop, Nottinghamshire. Son of Parker and Alice R. Broome, of 30, Marecroft, Worksop, Nottinghamshire. He was a coal miner at Shireoaks and Manton Collieries prior to enlisting, 1st November 1914 at Worksop. He went to France 22nd June 1915 and died, 7th October 1915, age 19, at No. 17 Casualty Clearing Station (Remy Siding), Belgium.
