British 15 Star, British War and Victory MedalBorn and lived at Wirksworth, Derbyshire. Son of George and Annie Brooks, of Steeple Grange, Wirksworth. He was a farm boy prior to enlisting at Derby. He went to France on 29th August 1915 and was killed in action, 3rd September 1916, in the attack on the German positions near Beaumont Hamel, France, during the Battle of the Somme.
