Born at Tumby, Lincolnshire. Son of George and Elizabeth Brooks, of Tumby, Mareham-Le-Fen, Boston, Lincolnshire. Husband of Fanny Brooks, of 8, Frisbys Buildings, Scotgate, Stamford. He enlisted at Horncastle, Lincolnshire and was killed in action, 3rd September 1916, age 26. during the attack on the German positions near Beaumont Hamel, France during the Battle of the Somme.
