Born in Nottingham and lived at 35, Seymour Street, Nottingham. Husband of Annie Brooks, of 177 Windmill Lane, Sneitnton, Nottingham. He was a lacemaker prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He was killed in action, 23rd July 1917, by German shellfire whilst in the trenches to the north of Ypres, Belgium.
