Born at Tunstall, Stoke-On-Trent, Staffordshire and lived at 6 Arthur Street Tunstall. Husband of Nancy Brookes, of 43, Morley Street, Tunstall. He was a pottery shiphouse labourer prior to enlisting at Tunstall. He went to France 29th August 1915 and died 7th September 1918, aged 39 in 3rd Canadian General Hospital, Camiers, France.
