Born At Sutton-In-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire and lived at Stanton Hill, Nottinghamshire. Son of Harry and Clara Brocklehurst, of ” Glencarn,” Forest Road, Skegby, Nottinghamshire. He was a pit top labourer prior to enlisting on 19th January 1916 at Sutton-In-Ashfield. He went to France on 7th August 1916 and was promoted to Corporal on 1st July 1918. He was killed in action, on 3rd August 1918, aged 24, whilst serving in the line near Proyart, France.
