British War and Victory MedalHusband of Isabella Britton, of 17 Vincent Street, Old Swan, Liverpool. He was an assistant rope maker prior to enlisting into the King’s Liverpool Regiment, 8th December 1915 at Liverpool. He went to France 3rd June 1917 and contracted influenza. He was transferred to England, 30th August 1917 on Hospital Ship St. Andrew. He returned to France 27th March 1918, was transferred to the 7th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 29th March 1918 and was killed in action, 16th April 1918, during the German attack at Kemmel, Belgium.
