Born at Tottenham, London. Son of William James and Amelia Mary Ann Bristow, of 92, Commercial Street, Spitalfields, London. He enlisted at Richmond, Surrey and was killed in action, 22nd September 1917, age 20, in the attack on Bulgar Wood, near Ypres, Belgium.
