Born and lived at Wirksworth, Derbyshire. Son of Joseph and Frances Brindley, of 24, Wash Green, Wirksworth, Derbyshire. He was a general labourer prior to enlisting at Chesterfield. He was killed in action, 3rd October 1918, aged 21, in the attack and capture of Ramicourt, France.
