Son of John William and Sarah Elizabeth Brindley, of 300, Meadow Lane, Nottingham. He was an errand boy prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He went to  France on 25th February 1915 and was Killed in action, 21st March 1918, whilst holding the line near Noreuil, France on the opening day of the German Spring Offensive or (Kaiserschlact)
