Private John Briggs

Battalion: 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at Ludford, Lincolnshire. Son of George and Mary Briggs, of 5, Eastfield Road, Louth, Lincolnshire. He was a farm labourer prior to enlisting at Horncastle, Lincolnshire. He was killed in action, 31st July 1917, age 23, in the attack at Bellewaarde Lake, near Ypres, Belgium.
