Born at Goole, Yorkshire and lived in Nottingham. Son of Charles Seaton Briggs and Mary Ann Briggs, of 306, Hucknall Road, Sherwood, Nottingham. He enlisted at Nottingham and was killed in action, 26th September 1917, age 21, in the attack near Wieltje, near Ypres, Belgium.
