Born and lived in Nottingham. Son of Arthur and Elizabeth Brierley, of 26, Nugent Street, Nottingham. He was a hat shop errand boy prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He was Killed in action, 21st March 1918, aged 22, whilst holding the line near Noreuil, France on the opening day of the German Spring Offensive or (Kaiserschlact)
