Born and lived in Nottingham. Son of Philip William and Frances Brierley, of 7, Marple Street, Alfred Street, Nottingham. He was an office boy prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He was killed in action, 27th April 1917, aged 22, whilst serving in the line near Templeux, France.
