Battalion: 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Tupton, Derbyshire. Sister of Ann Meads, of 32 ChapmanĀ  Lane Grassmoor, Derbyshire. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting on 23rd August 1914 at Clay Cross, Derbyshire. He went to France on 18th March 1915 and was appointed Lance Corporal on 20th May 1917. He was accidentally killed on 2nd July 1917.
