Born at Sheffield Yorkshire and lived at 105, Mushroom Lane, Sheffield. Son of Charles Henry and Helen Jane Bridgeman, of 11/13, Penistone Road, Sheffield. Husband of Lily Bridgeman, of 102, Fawcett Street, Sheffield. He was a spoon and fork filer prior to enlisting 7th December 1915 at Sheffield. He went to France 1st July 1917 with the Princes of Wales’s Own, West Yorkshire Regiment. On 30th March 1918  he was transferred to the 7th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment and was posted to the 1/5th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment 16th June 1918. He was wounded in action on the 9th July 1918 whilst serving in the line at Essarts, France and died of wounds 10th July 1918, aged 25.
