Born and lived at Barrow Hill, Derbyshire. Son of Herbert and Ellen Briddon, of 84, Devonshire Cottages, Barrow Hill. He was a blast furnace labourer prior to enlisting at Chesterfield, Derbyshire. He went to France on 14th July 1915 and died of wounds, on 22nd July 1916, at Newcastle General Hospital, England. 

Buried: Chesterfield (Spital) Cemetery, United Kingdom. Old. 3978.
