Born at Nottingham and lived at 3, Granville Grove, Carlton Road, Nottingham. Son of James and Ada Brewer, of  19 Herbert Street, Nottingham. He was a cardboard box maker prior to enlisting at Derby. He went to France on 14th July 1915 and died of wounds on 16th April 1916, aged 20.
