Son of Nicholas and Marie Brett, of 53 Walker Street, Nottingham. Husband of Mary Brett, of 13 Bellar Gate, Nottingham. He was a slater prior to enlisting on 8th December 1914 at Nottingham. He went to France on 29th August 1915 and was killed in action, 26th September 1915. whilst serving in the trenches near Le Rutoire, France.
