Born July 23rd 1897. Son of Edward and Rose Annie Bretland. He lived at 5 Bridgford Road, West Bridgford and attended Mundella School, Nottingham. He was a signaller and was killed in action 10th October 1916 whilst serving in the line near Thiepval, France.
