Private Douglas Brebner

Battalion: 2/5th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Son of James and Susan Brebnewr, of Linwood, Aboyne, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. He was a carpenter prior to enlisting on 30th January 1915 at Aberdeen, He was transferred to the 2/5th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, and went to France 1th January 1917. He contracted influenza and was admitted to 13 General Hospital, Boulogne, France, on 24th March 1917. He was transferred to England on Hospital Ship St. Dennis, 29th March 1917. He returned to France on 1st February 1918 and was killed in action, 21st March 1918, whilst holding the line near Noreuil, France on the opening day of the German Spring Offensive or (Kaiserschlact)
