He was born and lived at Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Son of George and Lucy Brassington, of 2 Brook Side Cottages, Chesterfield. Husband of Githera Brassington, of 23, Warwick Street, Chesterfield. He was a pork butcher prior to enlisting on 13th May 1915 at Chesterfield. He went to France 6th March 1916 and was killed in action, 5th June 1916, during the attack near Givenchy, France.
