Private John Branson

Battalion: 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Stockport, Cheshire. Son of John and Annie Branson, of Heaton Norris, Lancashire. Husband of Isabella Branson. He was a printer’s labourer prior to enlisting at New Mills, Derbyshire. He died of wounds, 27th October 1916,  at No. 24 Field Ambulance, France. 

Commemorated : Thiepval Memorial, France. Pier and Face 10 C 10 D and 11 A.
