Born and lived at Newark, Nottinghamshire. Son of Fred and Sarah Bradley, of Blyton’s Yard, Newark. Husband of Annie Bradley, of 5, Smith’s Row, Newark. He was a brewer’s labourer prior to enlisting at Newark. He served in Dublin during the Irish Rebellion of 1916 with the 2/8th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment. He was transferred to the 9th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment and wounded 26th September 1917 and was killed in action, 4th November 1918, in the attack at Sebourg, France.
