Born at Attercillfe, Yorkshire. and lived at Kiverton, Park, Yorkshire. Son of Henry and Mary A. Bradley, of Kiverton Park. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting at Worksop, Nottinghamshire. He was killed in action, 4th October 1917, during the attack at Poelcappelle, Belgium
