Born and lived in Nottingham. Son of Thomas and Elizabeth Bradley, of 8, Lindum Grove, Meadow Lane, Nottingham. He enlisted at Nottingham and went to France on 18th August 1915. He was killed in action, on 1st July 1916, aged 19, in the attack on the German positions at Gommecourt, France, on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.
