Born and lived at Clay Cross, Derbyshire. Son of Charles and Mary Ann Bradder, of, Clay Cross. He was a labourer prior to enlisting 13th October 1914 at Clay Cross. He went to France on 24th June 1915 and was attached to the 139th Brigade Machine Gun Corps, 6th February 1916. Killed in action, 1st July 1916, during the attack on the German positions at Gommecourt, France, on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.
