Born at Beeston, Nottinghamshire. Son of George and Sarah Ann Brackner, of 7, Broughton Street, Beeston. He was a lace factory hand. He enlisted 31st August 1914 at Nottingham. Went to Gallipoli 1st July 1915 and died 25th November 1915, age 20 of pyrexia (fever) due to trench fever at No. 26 Casualty Clearing Station at Imbros, Turkey.
