Born and lived at Blackburn, Lancashire. Son of Willie and Rosa Bracewell, of Blackburn. He was a bank clerk prior to enlisting. He was commissioned Second Lieutenant 17th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 3rd April 1917. Wounded at Bulgar Wood, near Ypres, Belgium and died of these wounds on the same day, 21st September 1917, aged 23.
