Born 7th June 1887 at Glasgow, Scotland. Son of Alexander Stuart Boyd and Mary Stuart Boyd, of Rewiti, Takapuna, Auckland, New Zealand. Artist By Profession.  He was commissioned Second Lieutenant 13th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment. Promoted Lieutenant 1st January 1916 and was attached to the 1st Battalion Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. He was wounded between 25th and 28th September 1916 during the Battle of Morval, on the Somme. He died of wounds, 7th October 1916, aged 29.
