Born at Tibshelf, Derbyshire and lived at 5, Hardwick Street, Holmewood, Derbyshire. Son of William and Hannah Bown, of 15, Devonshire Terrace, Holmewood. He enlisted at Derby and was killed in action, 27th May 1918, in the retiring fight to Montagne de Guyancourt.
