British 15 Star, British War and Victory MedalBorn and lived at Farndon, Nottinghamshire. Son of Thomas and Mary Elizabeth Bown. He was a woodworking machine painter prior to enlisting 23rd November 1914 at Newark. He went to France on 29th June 1915. He suffered gunshot wounds to his knee and was transferred to England. He was discharged 25th April 1918 and died 22nd July 1920, aged 29, at 56 Fitzneal Street, Shepherds Bush, London, whilst undergoing treatment in London.
