Battalion : 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born and lived at Basford, Nottingham. Son of General and Charlotte Bowman, 31, Egypt Road, Old Basford. He was a lace bobbin winder prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He served in India before going to France 17th December 1914. He was killed in action, 27th January 1915, whilst serving in the trenches near Richebourg, France.
