British 15 Star, British War and Victory MedalBorn at Stonebrrom, Derbyshire and lived at Morton, Derbyshire. Son of Benjamin and Emma Bowler, of “Bank View,” Morton,. He enlisted at Mansfield, Nottinghamshire and served with the 9th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment in Gallipoli during 1915.  He was later transferred to the 11th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment and died of wounds, 17th January 1917, age 19.
