Battalion: 9th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at Nether Heage, Derbyshire. Son of  Arthur and Eliza Bowler, of Malt House Lane, Nether Heage, Derbyshire. He enlisted at Derby and was killed in action, 4th October 1917, age 20, in the attack near Poelcappelle, near Ypres, Belgium. 

Commemorated : Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium. Panel 99 to 102 and 162 to 162A.
